Program Description:
The New Horizons Program is a middle and high school based prevention program that helps to diminish and correct the antisocial behaviors that have become the 'norm' for many students. New Horizons gives students the skills and positive feedback they require to become productive members of their school and community. The New Horizons Program has been in existence for over 30 years across Orange County and has expanded into Seminole and Brevard County schools in recent years. New Horizons has been recognized as a State of Florida "Best Practice" Prevention Program by the Florida Department of Children and Families and is currently in the process of gaining national recognition through the National Registry of Evidenced-based Prevention Programs (NREPP). Individuals are referred by school personnel in schools where services are being provided.
